Flashback : Early 2000 Representing Philippines ( percussion/ timpani ) for Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra In 1949, JMI created The Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra (UNESCO Artist for Peace), the first international youth orchestra of its kind. Partnering with key international orchestras and working with top class young musicians, soloists and conductors including Zubin Mehta, Leonard Bernstein, Charles Dutoit, Yakov Kreizberg and Kurt Masur. The orchestra has to date toured in over 30 countries, bringing together around 5,000 musicians and touching an audience of 2 million people. The Orchestra was bestowed the title of UNESCO Artist for Peace in 1997. After successful run for 60 years, JMI has paused to rethink the new Orchestra model for the future. We are set for discovering symphonic music of the world and bringing it to the world audience, the new plan set to re-launch the orchestra as of 2012. Following the adoption of the new artistic concept by the JMI AGA in Tanzania 2010, JMI has, in full support and cooperation with JM Germany, established partnership with the Berlin Philharmoniker. editorialc/jmwo/list_in.html
