Florida Governor Rick Scott held a news conference at the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce offices to announce the Florida unemployment rate had dipped to 6% in October (the lowest it has been since June 2008). Governor Scott noted Florida added 32,000 jobs last month, which was the third highest total in the nation. He went on to state that since taking office in November 2010, 679,000 Floridians have been added to the workforce leaving an estimated 578,000 still without a job. The Governor paid special note of the success of small business in Florida and took time to acknowledge Pat and Rick Howard, owners of Sklar Furnishings. He noted their continued growth is another sign of the healthy South Florida economy. Florida’s unemployment rate has declined or held steady over the month for 47 of the last 50 months https://youtube/watch?v=MoqoJ3KUTGA#t=87
