For Rocky, I had to play Pantara... I know the older people at the service did not understand why such a song was played at a funeral. And why I had to state that I knew many would not understand but was from his friends and I.. in 1987 I was introduced to Darrel and Vinnie. Rock and I were close, so, I took him everywhere with me... This included, going to their house and hanging out at the studio they had behind the house. Rocky was enthralled watching and listening to Darrell play, it was there we first heard Cowboys from Hell. I always thought watching and listening to Darrell is what brought Rock to ask for his first guitar. In 89 for Rockys 14th birthday, Scott and I got him tickets to Metallica. August 23rd was the concert at the Starplex... we had field seats. Darrell, Vinnie, Phil and Rex ( Pantara) ran into us there, we all hung out with them taking notice of Rocky.. They loved how into the concert he was.. There was a group getting together to rush through the seated area and to front stage.. They talked Rock into going with them, I trusted the guys with my little brother and he seemed so excited at the opportunity. They all gathered and went for it, the crowd gathered and rushed the stage... ten minutes later Vinnie and Darrell came back hooping and hollering.. they could not believe it... Rocky made it, he was the only one. After about 20 mins Rocky came back beaming. I could not count how many times Rock has called me over the last 10 years, his only words being * Hey Trish, this is so n so, they want to ask you something* And a random friend of his would be on the line asking me about the things I just explained and if it was true.. Each time I would laugh as they started to ask and finish for them.. he loved Pantara and was probably one of their biggest fans. It was a special experience in my brothers life that obviously meant a lot to him. I am very glad I was able to do that for him and share in the memories. Trish
