For a homesick Southern boy living 3,000 miles from home, Glory - TopicsExpress

For a homesick Southern boy living 3,000 miles from home, Glory Foods is a Godsend ... I keep trying their good food, close my eyes and think my Mother was still cooking her blessed magic. I know its canned and not nearly as good as what some of you will have even tonight but I feel like a man in the desert who dives face first into a muddy puddle and thinks it is heaven. Glory was founded in Columbus, Ohio, a company that arose on the need of Brothers and Sisters of African descent that moved up to the Rust Belt and had to leave the food of their Mothers behind. The company has now been purchased by the 107 year old Southern growers, McCall Farms Inc. in Effingham, SC and is spreading throughout the national market bringing the good food taste of the South across this great Nation (collard greens, kale, mustard and turnip greens, cut cabbage, cut sweet potatoes, turnip roots, yellow squash and yellow squash and zucchini). Now if they can figure out how to can a deep fried catfish, I may try to live a few more years.
