For all those who have been asking, Yes, we are finally back to - TopicsExpress

For all those who have been asking, Yes, we are finally back to normal with the family shipped off to various continents and alligator allies. Family is such a blessing with the little ones laughter, smiles and giggles. Celia is a show stopper! Parroting every word in that perfect English up swirl tone: One cannot help but carry a smile all day long. She is growing so fast, darting around like a hummingbird, and triumphantly conquering everyone and everything in her wake. Like her mother she is, when small she was. Danny watches with a serious tight lipped intensity, until he cracks this delightful open mouthed smile that surprises even the expecting mother. It comes and goes so quickly that you never know what mood he is in, until of course he drops that Jason-eske innocent turn of the head and just gives you that closed mouth shit eatin grin. A handful and a half they are! As delightful as the morning dew; until the twin nappies arrive; That’s what Shannon calls a diaper. Shannon is the perfect model mother, spoiling them a bit, but always teaching, always positive uplifting and reassuring them. They are sharp, quick to learn and devilishly cute! Such striking eyes, and photogenic charms will surely make them teenage crushers: Watch Our For Those Merican Boys! So many memories they bring back of my three little chili peppers when they were knee high to the grasshoppers. I am blessed with so many things that at times I am overwhelmed. Oh, there’s a Cheerio in the couch………… Something Old, and Something New……… My Mother and Sister were here as well. A striking combination of new and elderly souls. A joy to watch. My mother is actually (slightly) becoming humble. She is well and getting along nicely but you can see that her last bout with cancer has taken its toll. She is still the Missouri Mule but the grounds a little softer where she walks. Thanks to Michigan’s Wonderful Water Wonderland, we were all allergy stricken during their stay. The wedding was a joy and we were able to see many in the family. Even Jimmy and Patty made it in from Indiana. A regular family reunion! Judy had a great time as well. The continuing education of the Marine in search of a wife was in classic play. After watching Jay run to the store every day for milk, diapers, cheese and various Italian cooking supplies (needed for the witches brew!) I have decided that he will make some lucky lady a wonderful husband. He is ‘Grade A’ Nappie Certified! Watching a Marine cringe at the sight of a little baby’s butt is worth 50,000 points! Just goes to show you how a little child can bring down a crusty hardened grunt with just one little nappie; a joyous memory made! Then there is the moment when he picked up the cheese, he bought jalapeño and chili pepper jack instead of parmesan and Romano needed for the birthday gala. Mind you, I was tempted to use the jalapeno pepper jack in the Italian I was preparing, but I knew that once detected, a goblin curse would be haunting me for the rest of my days. Even if I blamed it on Jason, I was the cook. Everyone deserves to get old naturally, so I let it slide………… It was good to see Eric, and I wish he would have stayed a little longer. I missed getting the family photo we talked about, but I am thankful we did see him. Then there were the Pomaville’s and friends, cousins, etc…………..many descended in and out, to see the little Englishers. It was good to see so many long lost faces from the shadows of my past. Kimberly was delightful recalling so many moments and memories. I’m happy that we had a few laughs. We have all been very very blessed as you can see in those shining babies’ faces and that sparkle in their mothers eyes. How ironic it is that the sofa bed I ordered arrived today, only a month late. Well we shall be ready for next year! The ole’ man & The Young Lady…………..
