For all those who remember those amazing coffee cakes at Dana Jr. High, here is the recipe!! Thanks for sharing, Winnie!! Old Fashioned Coffee Cake aka Dana Jr. High Coffee Cake 4 cups flour 2 cups brown sugar 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 teaspoons nutmeg 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 3/4 cups oil Mix the above ingredients until crumbly. (Put 1 1/2 cups of this aside, add 2 teaspoons cinnamon to it for your topping.) 3 eggs, beaten 2 cups buttermilk 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon of baking powder Combine these ingredients with the flour and oil combo until just blended. (Pour into a greased baking sheet and sprinkle the crumb cinnamon mixture on top.) Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. ~Enjoy~
