For anyone who has AT&T service, I received a SCAM PHONE CALL on - TopicsExpress

For anyone who has AT&T service, I received a SCAM PHONE CALL on Saturday saying that my account was flagged for fraudulence and that I had to enter the last four digits of my social security number in order for my service to be uninterrupted. The number that called me was MY OWN PHONE NUMBER. It wasnt a 1-800 number so as I went to type in my last four of my social it hit me that it was a fraudulent call trying to get my info and I immediately hung up and called AT&T to see if they were really requesting my info. I have a pin for the account and it struck me as curious as to why they wouldnt ask for the pin. AT&T said yes it was a hacker or a scam to get the info. Be careful out there guys you carriers will never call or send emails for your info whether is PG&E or your water bill or phone service. If you give up that info, there goes all your security.
