For anyone who wonders just how long you should wear your retainers, heres our answer: everyone is different and there is really no set rule. However, we encourage basically one full year of full time wear to allow your teeth to settle and tighten into bone and then, if preferred, you may be able to go to nighttime wear. However, its important that you continually check and monitor your teeth for movement. A good rule of thumb is if when you put your retainers back in if they feel snug or tight, that is an indication that there has been some slight movement and that you still need to wear your retainer. You will never hear us tell you to stop or that you are done wearing your retainers. It all depends on you and how long you want to continue to wear it.
