(Perris, CA, September 16, 2014) The Oil Twins Amsoil PASSCAR Stock Car Series returns to Perris Auto Speedway this Saturday night, September 20th, for the final race at the Riverside County clay oval before October’s Southern California Fair takes over on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds. Racing will return after the conclusion of the fair. This Saturday’s show, which will begin at 7:00 PM, will feature the LoanMart Street Stocks, Modifieds, Super Stocks, American Factory Stocks and the CDCRA Dwarf Cars. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM. Two-time track champion Luke Dodd of Riverside comes into Saturday’s event as the new leader in the LoanMart Street Stock standings. Dodd, who won his second race of the season in August, carries a 34-point lead over Buckeye, Arizona teenage sensation Nathan Deragon going into Saturday’s race. Henry Wesoloski of Temecula, another two time PAS champ sits third with Riverside’s Casey MacDonald, who led the points most of the season before relinquishing the top spot to Dodd, fourth. Another Riverside racer, Eddie Gurwell is fifth. Of the top five, only Dodd has booked his ticket to the PAS Pursuit championship finale in November. Riverside’s Dave Clark, who has yet to win a main in 2014, sits on top of the Modified standings. Defending series champion Billy Griffin of Buena Park has won the last two Modified mains, but trails Clark by 37-points. As it stands now, no driver in the Modifieds has locked up a place in the PAS Pursuit Finale on November 15th. San Bernardino’s Josh Evans is third in the standings with Dalton Everhart of Perris fourth. The track’s all-time top Modified driver, Alan Updyke of Tustin, is fifth. Defending champion Dennis Wooldridge of Riverside has led the Super Stock standings all season long and has a comfortable 28-point edge over Beaumont’s Ricky Lee. At the last race in August, Wooldridge had problems with his own car and jumped into Earl Cox Jr.’s car and drove it to a second place finish behind PAS veteran Blaine Whitson of Temecula. Wooldridge, Whitson and Victorville’s Andy Moreton have all earned passes into the PAS Pursuit championship race. Lee, Buena Park’s Bryan Butler, Danny Webster of Cherry Valley and Moreton comprise the rest of the top five in points behind Wooldridge. Hesperia’s Fred Kottman led the standing in the PASSCAR American Factory Stocks all season until the last race when Riverside’s Tom Gillum passed him for the top spot. Gillum has a 3-point lead over Kottman going into Saturday’s race. Kottman is sandwiched in between Tom Gillum and Gillum’s brother Jeff of Hemet who is just three points out of second. Highland’s Tim LaBrake is fourth and Kris Carnish of Menifee is fifth. The Southern California Fair will run on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds from October 4th through the 12th and will include the LoanMart Street Stocks, Democross and Spectator Racing on October 11th.
