For many of us, admitting our short comings is a process often purposely looked over or forgotten. It is easier to focus on what we excel at rather than acknowledge the areas of our lives that we know could use improvement. But how are we ever to move forward if our deficiencies aren’t addressed? Leaving parts of ourselves neglected, left hidden in the background, only anchors us to the past - obstructing any hope of real progress. In order to truly breakthrough, ego must be forced aside, parading our weaknesses without filtration. Once they are barred and apparent, we are finally free to defy them. Finally free to attack them with restless abandonment, grabbing hold with fists intent on destruction. With no disguise to construe their true nature, faults slowly begin to fade until the day that victory can be declared and what was once a handicap now becomes a strength. Empowerment is found in exposure. By bringing to light the things we are ashamed of or frightened by, we take the first critical steps towards authenticity of self
