For my friends in Halifax County..... IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE UPCOMING MAY 6 PRIMARY: REGISTER TO VOTE !!!! Any 17 yr old who will be 18 by the date of the next general election, (November 4th); MAY REGISTER AND VOTE IN THE PRIMARY MAY 6TH and ALSO in the GENERAL ELECTION ON Nov. 4th. If you are already registered, does the Board of Elections have your CORRECT address and phone number? Call the Halifax Board Of Elections to verify your information. 583-4391 IN A PRIMARY ELECTION SUCH AS THE ONE ON MAY 6TH: If you are registered Republican, the day you vote, you will receive a Republican ballot with ONLY Republican and non partisan candidates on it. If you are a registered Democrat, the day you vote, you will receive a Democrat ballot with ONLY Democrat and non partisan candidates on it. If you are a registered Libertarian, the day you vote, you will receive a Libertarian ballot with only Libertarian and non partisan candidates on it. If you are registered UNAFFILIATED; the day you vote, you must request EITHER a Democrat OR a Republican ballot. IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE YOUR PARTY AFFILIATION SO THAT YOU CAN VOTE FOR EITHER A DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE; YOU MUST DO SO BY CONTACTING THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS BY APRIL 11. If you are not sure what party the candidates represent or the offices they are running for; LISTED BELOW ARE THE CANDIDATES WHO WILL BE ON EACH DIFFERENT PARTY BALLOT. ***10 days of early voting for the Primary will be at 2 voting locations.
