For the musicians on here. For many musicians (myself included), mastering is one of the most mysterious areas of music engineering and (post)production. Ive heard music greatly enhanced by good mastering and Ive heard music terribly damaged by bad mastering, and while most musicians I know will acknowledge the importance of mastering when it comes to releases of recorded music, most remain in the dark about what it actually entails. This video / talk is quite long but Id recommend it to any musicians who want to know what mastering involves, and especially to any musicians who release (or plan to release) their work on vinyl.
