For todays match up we have The Duchess Satine Kryze of Mandalore versus Shmi Skywalker,of Tatooine. Satine Kryze was Duchess of Mandalore and head of the Council of Neurtal Systems. Mandalore was one of many systems who decided to be neutral in the Clone Wars. Despite her Mandalorian heritage, Satine believed in peace, not war. She brought prosperity to her people with her new ways of life and was well loved by her people. Satine was close to Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi, with whom she secretly loved and admired. Together they exposed Death Watch as terrorists working for the CIS. Satine was an enemy of corruption, she doesnt allow it. She is strong willed and set on the righteous path and does great things for her people, such as stopping black market trade on Mandalore. Shmi Skywalker is the mother of the chosen one, Anakin Skywalker. She was a slave on Tatooine and at some point, inexplicably became pregnant with Anakin. She cared greatly for her son and always did what was best for him, taught him important values which led him to help Qui Gon Jinn and the others get their ship repaired. Shmi had several masters throughout her life, finally ending with Watto, the Toydarian dealer. Eventually she was bought by a Moisture Farmer named Cliegg Lars where he freed and married her. She became the stepmother to Owen Lars with whom she loved, although she deeply missed her Anakin who had become a Jedi Knight. One early morning, Shmi was kidnapped by a group of Tusken Raiders who tortured her relentlessly to discover human strengths and weaknesses. She lasted for over a month, holding onto the hope of one day seeing her son again. Just as she was about to give up, Anakin returned for her and saved her, but he was too late and she died in his arms. The death of his mother drove Anakin into a fury he had never known before and was the first step down the path to becoming Vader. Shmi may be ordinary, but she was a remarkably kind and strong woman. Which of these two will come out the winner? The Duchess of Mandalore or the Mother of the Chosen One?
