For years every year I ended Elko on Saturday night in Buck - TopicsExpress

For years every year I ended Elko on Saturday night in Buck Ramseys room with Betty, Buck, Jack and I at about 4:00am with him singing this one at my request. Then I ran to the room packed to make it to the 5:00 am flight. This year is my 30th at Elko for the Poetry Gathering. The people I have met have shaped my life more than they know. How can you even start to explain to Jack how special he is to me? The memories created there are lasting a lifetime. Somehow the seem to take hold and embed themselves deep into memories. Other places and other times do as well but there is something about the magic of Elko at the end of January that is special. The smiles are a bit brighter, the laughter a bit louder, the hugs a bit tighter, the joy you see reflected back at seeing someone, hearing a story, a poem, a song, or just sitting quietly and letting it overwhelm your senses. One thing I know for sure Jack and so many others have touched my life and have allowed me to know I am blessed. Stop by the Red Lion and say hi, do a little shopping, share a memory or make a new one. Keep an eye out for some fun times on late, late Saturday night.
