Forbiddance of asserting similarities for Allaah تعالى: بسم الله والحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله ، وبعد Allaah تعالى says: ﴿فَلَا تَضْرِبُوا لِلَّـهِ الْأَمْثَالَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّـهَ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ﴾ {So put not forward similitudes for Allaah (as there is nothing similar to Him, nor He resembles anything). Truly! Allaah knows and you know not. } [Surah al-Nahl (16): 74] Shaikh Muhammad bin `Abdullaah al-Sabeel (d. 1434H) رحمه الله said: Allaah تعالى says: ﴿فَلَا تَضْرِبُوا لِلَّـهِ الْأَمْثَالَ﴾ {So do not assert similarities to Allaah} [Surah al-Nahl (16): 74] {al-amthaal}, meaning: similitudes/comparisons. Meaning: Don’t liken Allaah تعالى with His creation, nor set up partners with Him. For verily! There is nothing comparable to Allaah سبحانه وتعالى, nor is there any equal to Him – neither in His Names nor Attributes and nor in the things which He تعالى does. And asserting similarities is comparing the state (between the Creator and the creation). Verily! Allaah تعالى is not similar to His creation, nor is He like them in anyway, because: ﴿لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ ۖ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ﴾ {There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.} [Surah al-Shooraa (42): 11] فتاوىٰ ورسائل مختارة ص. (39)
