Forecast models continue to drive the clipper further south. This - TopicsExpress

Forecast models continue to drive the clipper further south. This trend started yesterday and continues... What this means is the heaviest precipitation will fall south of the entire area today. We are no longer in the best position to get the moderate snow. At this time there are still no watches, warnings or advisories issued, but that COULD change later today in the form of an advisory. However, we will still see snow later today. This morning the rain and snow mix was moving into eastern Illinois along the Indiana border. This mix will overspread the area in the 9-11 AM timeframe. I am expecting little to no accumulation before at least noon. Colder air will be pulled in by mid afternoon and change the precipitation to all snow. I will hold with yesterdays prediction of 1-2, pushing the 2 inch totals in the southern part of the viewing area. And I still think a few spots well to the southeast, like Adams and Defiance counties will have a few spots in the 3-4 range, if the rain to snow transition occurs early enough. For all, slick driving is likely later in the afternoon and this evening.
