Former LHS softball players Cassidy Smith and Colissa Bakovich led their college softball team , the Metro State Roadrunners, to the RMAC championship this past weekend. The team has earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Div II tournament. Smith won several games during the tournament and came in to shut down their opponent during the championship game and was named to the all-tournament team. Bakovich was named the RMAC tournament most valuable player. She finished the tournament with a team-high .474 batting average and six runs scored and five RBIs.
