Fort Pierce Police Department officers and detectives arrested Angel Roberts, 17, of Fort Pierce for attempted homicide and possession of a handgun. Roberts is currently located at the Saint Lucie Regional Juvenile Detention Center. On October 29, 2014 at about 12:10 pm, Fort Pierce Police officers responded to shooting activity in the area of 1300 North 16th Court. Officers quickly determined that Roberts was involved in a disturbance that resulted in gunfire. Further investigation revealed that Roberts sent Tasha Smith a picture of himself, pointing a handgun, to her over Facebook the night before. That morning, Roberts approached Tasha in front of her apartment, pointed a handgun at her and threatened her life. Later that day, Tasha and her husband, Jordan Ewing, saw Roberts walking in front of their apartment, 1310 North 16th Court. Jordan confronted Roberts and the two began fighting. During the fight, Roberts pulled out a handgun and began firing at Jordan. Jordan was able to escape without being injured by the gunfire. Roberts was arrested and charged with Attempted First Degree Homicide and Possession of Firearm by an Adjudicated Florida Delinquent. The investigation into this case is ongoing.
