Fort Walton Beach--After careful onsite assessment, City officials have begun to re-open previously closed roads as conditions become safe for travel. Residents are still urged to use extreme caution when on the roads and should avoid driving through standing water or flood waters that cover the streets. Flash flooding remains a threat and sewage overflows are also possible due to excessive rainfall. City staff are continually monitoring for potential sewage spills, damage to streets, and other hazards. Please exercise caution, limit any non-essential travel, and continue to monitor fwb.org for updates.
