Its not just awesome because its home movie footage from before Stevie Ray Vaughn was on his way to being a legend, but because the story that was shared with it happens to illustrate the bond between musicians and how humble the truly great ones are... From Too Slim and the Taildraggers page ..... - Cool video, also want to point out the late great Keith Ferguson on Bass with the T-Birds. The first time I ever played in Austin TX. We went to a bar and Keith was playing bass with Paul Ortas band. I had a Too Slim and the Taildraggers T shirt on and on the break Keith walked straight up to me and said to me , where can I get me one of those T-shirts?? I told him we were playing at the Continental Club the next night and he he came down Id give him one. He showed up and I gave him the shirt. He asked us if we had a place to stay that night and I said no and he invited us to all come stay at his house. I could not resist this offer and opportunity to hang with one of my favorite bass players of all time. It was an unforgettable evening and Keith told us so many great stories about the early years of the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Stevie Ray. He had hundreds of old photos and cool posters and memorabilia which he shared with us. He was a sweetheart of a man and I cherish this memory of the night we spent with Keith. We even met his mom who our bass player Tom startled her as she came over to say hi in the morning as Tom was sleeping on the porch.
