Four Dead In Ilorin During PDP’s Sallah Celebration… Scores Injured In Stampede. The annual Sallah celebration of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kwara State held at the party’s charity house in Ilorin went awry today as no fewer than four members of the PDP at the event dropped dead and several others injured during a stampede caused by struggle among the crowd to get their own portion of food and drinks. The event was said to have gone on smoothly until the mad rush for food which led to the stampede, during which some of the party faithful dropped dead due to suffocation. Those who were injured who are mostly women were rushed to Sobi Specialist Hospital, close to the venue of the incident while corpses of the deceased were equally promptly taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital morgue.
