Fourth Sunday of Lent A Wednesday (John 5:17-30) THE - TopicsExpress

Fourth Sunday of Lent A Wednesday (John 5:17-30) THE NERVE! Yung dating pari dito yung mataba mabait. Binibigyan ako ng kape nun. Yung bagong pari payat. Di yata nagkakape yun! Her name is Marie. She has nerbs ( mental meltdown) and walks around the barangay asking for coffee and coins. Bahay Kubo is her national anthem. ~~~bahay kubo kahit munti, ang halaman doon, ay sari sari, singkamas, at talong, ubas, mansanas, mangga, malulut, bubut, saging, saba, lakatan, latondan, peras, dyang pera, fruit salad~~~ The audience breaks into laughters at the middle of her performance. She is fun loving woman. And then... You ask if she is pregnant, hell breaks loose. Thats her sensitive nerve. What is ours? The Jews in the gospel are mad at Jesus, wanting to kill him, because Jesus claims that He and the Father are one. The nerve! They beget the claim. In their eyes, Jesus is not content into breaking the law, he even blasphems. We are believers of Jesus. We are awed with the Godness of the Son. We dont even get mad at Jesus. I mean, we CANNOT get mad at him ( the nerve!). Anger is a strong word for our questioning, complaining, and wailing when our world is not turning exactly the way we want it to be. The Jews want to kill Jesus because he says he is God. Some of us are tempt to kill Jesus in our hearts because in our eyes He fails to be God to us. In the first reading (Isaiah 49:8-15) Zion accusses the Lord of forgetting and forsaking him. The Lord answers metaphorically citing the unforsaking love of a mother to her child. And if ever she does, the Lord will never forget him. I once looked intently at the painting of Michaelangelo at the Sistine chapel in Italy called The Creation, Adam and God the Father in their ET (the movie remember?) moment. Adam is not too excited about the whole thing and not really hopeful. God reaches out and exerts much effort in the relationship. When we feel unheard by God, maybe we start listening to him first. Jesus listens to the Father and does the will of the Father all the time even it it kills him. It killed him. Three days he died only for him to resurrect forever. The Lord loves you and will always be faithful to you (even if we are terrible in this category) and will never mean harm to you. Jesus shows the way. Whatever we get from life, we should be happy accepting it. All is grace mah fren. God does not say the nerve! when we pray, even if we deserve such indignation, because of Gods sensitive nerve proclaimed at the responsorial psalm for today: GOD IS GRACIOUS AND MERCIFUL. By the way, after you get into the nerves of Marie, she sings her second signature song: Pusong Bato.
