Fourth class of Conversational French this morning and Hubby#1 did - TopicsExpress

Fourth class of Conversational French this morning and Hubby#1 did not accompany me as he was lured out to Ft. Saskatchewan by a nephew... Hah, I laugh because I did not wake up another nephew, his girlfriend and the girlfriends younger sister by arriving at said place of rendezvous! Original nephew was not there and it turned out that youngest nephew was having a deck building party, which his older brother neglected to mention! Yep, David ended up helping to build the deck with youngest nephew, his youngest brother (the boys Dad) and the girlfriends father. He was so not dressed for that! Nephew whose idea it was spent the day working on his Uncle Davids vehicle including a couple of trips for parts. No, vehicle was not ready when Hubby#1 had to come home so he drove nephews F150 back (with a call from said nephew halfway back to the city that the truck was on fumes)! I have a very tired and sore Hubby#1 on my hands tonight. We love these guys but oh, how they make their Uncle pay for the honour! Meanwhile in French class I learned (broad use of the term) how to conjugate verbs. I have at least lived back in Canada long enough to recognize food words (bilingual packaging!) I know ice cream (la crème glacée), candy (les bonbons) and cheese (le fromage)! Driving back from campus on this spectacularly beautiful fall afternoon I again was awed at how beautiful the University of Alberta is! Driving down Groat Road hill northbound past Hawrelak Park I witnessed the worst “driving” display I have ever seen on the other side of the road! That is saying heaps because I drive in St. Albert at least three times a week, which has some of the most inventive driving practices around. An expensive SUV had apparently missed the park/golf course turnoff so the “driver” turned down the exit from the park. To accomplish this they had to do some interesting contortions BACK into the driving lane to go down the one-way exit in the wrong direction! FCOL! Jai été sidéré! Je suis estomaqué!
