Free to Love Prayer Devotional, November 15 gracecrossing.net/freetolove FREEDOM IN CHRIST “Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.” - Philipians 2:1,2 COMMENTARY Brothers and sisters, weve spent the past six days reveling in our freedom in Christ. My hope is that youve been encouraged as youve been reminded of the freeing power of Gods Spirit and Christs sacrifice. Today, we share that encouragement with others: 1. I will share my faith and be available (free) to help the following person(s) because the Spirit has moved me to talk to them: 2. I recognize the following areas in my life where I still live in fear from the law and I ask the Spirit to free me from them: □ I have sinned too much to be forgiven □ My sins are forgiven, but not forgotten □ My salvation requires me to follow most of the law □ The salvation of others requires that they follow most of the law □ God loves me, but Hes still disappointed in me 3. I recognize the following thoughts that may be an abuse of my freedom in Christ: □ Because Im free, Gods law no longer has a place in my life □ I am free to read/watch/say anything regardless of its content □ I am free, so my effort to avoid sin is unnecessary □ I am free, but I know for sure they arent □ I am free, God will forgive me later for doing this right now □ I am free, if they have a problem with it, its their issue 4. I am passionate about the following two areas in life and I will seek to allow the Holy Spirit to use me more in these areas: PRAYER Jesus, your ways lead to true freedom. You first loved me before I could even understand your sacrifice. My desire is to be free for you. Guide my every decision. Make me passionate for the lost people in my life.
