Freshmen are participating in time-honored tradition today at LSU of Alexandria: it’s orientation for the first-year students. They’re learning their way around the campus, the course offerings, professors and the extra-curricular activities. School officials are meeting with them and their parents to describe the many services offered to incoming students. School starts on August 25th. New to LSUA is ROTC and some added sports programs. There are other changes and new offerings detailed in these orientation sessions. Students are also given ways to succeed at their studies, such as budgeting time, seeking help, and planning how and when to take certain courses. Orientation is especially helpful for students combining work with school.
