Friday Fun Fact: Otter River State Forest in Baldwinville was acquired by the Commonwealth in 1915. It is comprised of 1022 acres of beautiful forest, open spaces, trails, Beaman Pond & Otter River. Other times of the year, camping is available through the DCR, but this time of year the trails are perfect for day adventures. The main gate is off of Rte. 202 north, but the property can also be accessed from Birch Hill Dam. There are a lot of short loop hikes, places to walk the dogs and great trails to snowshoe/cross country ski. Trail maps are available on line, at Trail Head, or in the kiosks at Otter River. Saturday looks rainy, but Sunday looks like a great day to get outside. Enjoy your weekend!
