Friday, July 11, 2014 Entertaining Angels, the least among us Hebrew 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. You never know what someones story is when you meet them. God sends people to us all the time who either need us or whom we need. Everyone we meet is either a current or potential brother or sister in Christ. Treat everyone with respect and care, God will send just the right person to you at just the right time, who knows when we will be entertaining angels. Matthew 25:35-36 Jesus teaches us in these verse how we are to display love to one another. We are to help feed the poor and give them clean water. We live in a nation that is wide spread of homeless, these are strangers among us that need shelter and we can help get them into a safe place to sleep. Clothes may not be on some of our priority list, but many are need, lets reach out to those by going through our closets and dressers and giving them our best! Visits to the hospital, nursing homes and even to those at home sick is a way of reaching out and letting them know we love them and are praying for their healing. As well visiting those who are locked away in prison, they are still our brothers and sister and they still need to hear the gospel and know they are loved. Jesus spoke a mighty verse when he said in, Matthew 25:40 And the King Jesus shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. When you reach out to someone in need, whether it being for food, clothing, shelter or to show them love, you have reached out to Jesus himself. When you ignore those in need, you have rob yourself of a blessing, and opportunity to share the gospel and the love of Christ. Father I thank You for my daily provision, I know that it is my job to do something in this world to make a difference in anothers life. Many our starving, homeless, without good clothing, sick and in prison, these are the least among us, who we need to reach out to. These are angels among us and we need to have our heart, eyes and ears open so we do not miss the opportunity to serve the kingdom of God. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
