Friday evening sunset photo walk - The tide was low, really low - - TopicsExpress

Friday evening sunset photo walk - The tide was low, really low - which made for great reflections and patterns in the water. The light was amazing and was hitting the moored boats in the water and making the colours sing. The wind dropped, the water stilled and the sun slowly set...magnificently. We walked along the beach, talking, looking and photographing light and composition. When the sun dropped behind the horizon and twilight approached, we changed the way we took photos - popped our cameras on tripods and our MODE to manual and learned how to take photos in low light. It was a great way to spend a relaxing Friday evening with good peeps. And it was a reminder for me too, to keep checking the cameras settings. The night before I had been photographing our celebration evening (with school) So I changed my ISO to 800 to capture the inside shots without flash. And guess what...? I didnt change it back to a low ISO when we went for our walk! As a result the image quality of these shots has been compromised - the light was so magnificent these images should ping but because of the high ISO, they dont. Arrghh! dumb baby - note to self, and everyone else - constantly check your camera settings, you never know what you may have forgotten to change or you may have accidentally changed your cameras settings. Its all good though, I know the girls all took fantastic shots and that their ISO was set correctly :)
