Friday night football wrap-up: Good news, bad news for area teams: Friday night was a big football night for area football teams, with some winning and some losing as the season moves along. The Pleasanton Eagles were handed their first loss at the hands of the San Antonio Christian Lions in a road game that ended with a score of 10 to 28. Meanwhile the Jourdanton Indians beat the Pearsall Mavericks at home 28 to 6. In a home game the Poteet Aggies were beaten 20 to 24 by the D’Hanis Cowboys, while the Charlotte Trojans went on the road to win 34-12 over the Pettus War Eagles. Floresville’s Tigers were beaten on the road 17 to 31 by the Lockhart Lions. The Lytle Pirates made a short road trip to Devine and were beaten 30-14 by the Warhorses. The Somerset Bulldogs beat the Laredo Martin Tigers 42 to 25 at home. This coming Friday the Eagles host the Gonzales Apaches, the Indians host the Sinton Pirates and the Aggies have the week off. The Trojans will go on the road to play the D’Hanis Cowboys in a Saturday game. Floresville’s Tigers host the San Marcos Rattlers, while the Warhorses play the Crystal City Javelinas on the road. Lytle’s Pirates play the Panthers at Navarro and the Somerset Bulldogs host the Southside Cardinals.
