Friends- I have big personal news. As the dust has finally settled from The Blockleys closing- Ive made the move to go into The Ardmore Music Hall on a partnership level. Along with my great friend Tom Linquist, I will be taking over creative control and management of the club. Im extremely excited to find a new home venue to bring many of the friends, resources, and relationships from the past 5 years back together in the local music scene- including my main men sound expert guys, Jesse Soifer and Julian James Booker. The Ardmore Music Hall, at 23 E Lancaster Ave in Ardmore, has been a famed music club for 35+ years- as the 23 East Cabaret, and then Brownies, and now AMH. At 650 cap, and with the same big old oval bar as 3801 Chestnut Street...the place bears a striking resemblance to the venue I called home the last few years. This is a new time, and a new place- and I dont see it as Blockley 2, but rather just the next step for me and Tom. But I am excited to bring along many of the wonderful friends and co-workers who have helped me make a mark on Philly these last few years & to welcome many of the great musicians who came to The Blockley, to this new room. I am also thrilled to work with Joe Rufo, Sara Shoenberger, and all of the talent buying/promotions, production & bar staff members who have developed year 1 of The Ardmore Music Hall since the room was renovated and renamed. Tom and I cant wait to get involved with taking the place to the next level and working with some great people. I remember seeing Splintered Sunlight at Brownies when I turned 21 at St. Joes....and now, to help run the venue after a 5 year stop at another legendary Philly club with so much shared history to 23 East, is just surreal. Im honored and humbled by the opportunity, and excited to bring a lot of amazing shows to town. If you dont know the place, get to- ardmoremusic.
