Friends, For the past four years this band has been called Orgone Ocean Sonar (a name my Dad came up with) and only recently I have taken a deeper look into what these three words mean and where they come from. Orgone is a type of energy, Ocean is a body of energy and Sonar is a way of exploring this energy. Orgone: Music Ocean: Band Members Sonar: Instruments For a while I was under the impression this name was introduced solely by Professor Carl Jung, but after further study I have come to learn that this energy was actually discovered first hand by a man named Wilhelm Reich who worked closely with Sigmund Freud. Carl Jungs work on the Collective Unconscious has mention of the Cosmic Orgone Ocean but it was actually Reich that discovered it. This band has been going for four years and Ive only just learnt the facts behind our weird and wonderful name. Typical.
