Friends, I thank everyone who called, messaged, posted and wished me on my birthday. Since it was a Sunday, young brothers at the church arranged nice lunch and a cake for me and made the day more special. Here are my thoughts as I take the turn to run the 44th lap of my life. Physically, no matter how much I care for this body of mine, this house of mine will perish one day. But my inner man can be renewed everyday. And I can become younger and younger. Till I become nothing. Or in other words, perfect. As I run this race I look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who already ran the race, made a way for me, breasted the tape on the cross and said, It is finished. Therefore I faint not; but though my outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For my light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for me a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While I look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (From 2 Corinthians 4) Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (From Isaiah 40.) And when the race finishes, I should be able to say, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 2 Timothy 4:7
