Friends, Our beloved retired Librarian, the Reverend Elmer J. OBrien, passed away this morning at 5:15 mountain time at Frasier Meadows Retirement Community in Boulder, Colorado. Elmer has been in decline for only a few short weeks and during his last days recounted the joys he had at United. We extend our prayers of love and sympathy to his wife and best friend, Betty OBrien, who has been his deepest love for 48 years. An obituary is being prepared that I will forward next week. A memorial service is being planned for Elmer on May 17th at Mountain View United Methodist Church in Boulder at 2:00 p.m. In notes for the service, Elmer asked that Bachs, Where Sheep May Safely Graze be played as the interlude.
