Friends and family, this has certainly been 3 of the most stressful days of my life. Nevertheless, Im happy to report, I won the LD29 Senate Seat by 113 votes. Thank you to all who helped me, believed in me, contributed to the campaign, knocked on doors and sent prayers and good thoughts my way in these last few days. To my opponent, the Honorable Lydia Hernandez, you deserve a lot of credit for running a hell of a campaign and Im sure I will see you serving our community in another role. Thank you for pushing me to my limits. I respect a good challenge. To everyone else, weve learned a few things here: (1) Never lose faith - hard work and running a dignified and respectable campaign does result in a win sometimes; (2) EVERY VOTE COUNTS!!! If you know someone who didnt vote in LD29 in this Primary, they helped me grow a few more white hairs. We CANNOT afford to have a similarly low turnout in November. Duval, Rotellini, Garcia, Kennedy, Holway all need us! (3). We eeked out a win, just barely. But a good (or winning) campaign doesnt equate to a good elected official. Now the real work begins. Im thankful Ive earned the votes of the people of LD29, now Ill start working to earn your respect as your State Senator. Now, I think Im going to finally get some sleep.
