Saw these for the first time about a week after Black Friday and was just as bummed on the etching as you were. We didnt really get much of a heads up on how it was gonna turn out but based on previous etchings we figured it would be ok. Lesson learnt there. Ultimately the etching is indeed pressed and shows up best on the solid-red version of the 7. The lighter and busier colors will overshadow the etch. On another note, the color-in-color option turned out strange. Some turned out awesome with red/yellow mixed to perfect, while the others came out as a weird yellowy-red in yellow. We did our best to accommodate everyone here and hope youre happy with your record. The plus side is that it came out awesome and looks/sounds incredible.
