From Admin Sam It has been 3 months since I was blessed to be the Foster Parent for Destiny. It has certainly been an emotional rollercoaster but one I do not regret taking on. What an interesting journey and challenge for both Destiny and I, we have had to learn many things together along the way, but Destiny has been so strong and even in her darkest hour and when the pain was all too real and you could see it in her eyes, she still managed to be a fighter. I can tell you I have cried many tears when she first had surgery and I slept on the floor to be next to her in case she needed me. Then the tears flowed as she got mobile and was trying to weight bare the best she could.. but today is a whole new story !! Destiny is now able to be a fun loving puppy and make no mistake she is living life to the full, She also has a mischievous side to her as with any puppy who is 8 months old, she loves going for walks, rubber balls, tug rope and more so her raw hide treats and Marrow Bones. Destiny lives with my 2 GSDs and plays very nicely with her Boxer playmate that lives next door. Destiny is a strong willed girl, who knows her limits. She is very loving and loyal, and bonds very strongly with her owner, you will always find her by your side. Destiny is easy to train as she is so treat motivated, she’s a girl who just loves her food. Since I am unable to keep Destiny, we have opened up expressions of interest for her but we have only received one enquiry, so in case there is anyone wanting to apply these are her requirements: An older male dog that is placid or as a single dog home NO CATS Older children Indoor only – Must sleep indoor and is crate trained Has basic manners, can sit, drop, stay, come, fetch, leave it and on your bed Experienced owner as she is a big girl and very strong. Destiny mainly needs someone who knows about caring for a dog with ED or willing to learn and that can let her do things at her own pace, she knows her limits and she will guide you as to what she can and can’t do. To put an application forward please email [email protected] and put Destiny in the subject line.
