From Happily Even After: After losing Mike, the only thing that the thought of being in love again left me with was a slightly nauseated feeling, followed by extreme exhaustion and a strong desire to resume the fetal position while eating French fries, guzzling Coke, and watching reruns of The Golden Girls. Love? You must be kidding. I mean, after all, Mike was the love of my life . A life that was now over. There is no question that Mike was the love of my life... until the life that we lived together as a couple and as a family came to an end on December 19, 2000 at 7:56 p.m. However, even though I didn’t realize it at the time and whether I liked it or not, at that very moment my daughter and I had entered a new life. Let me say that again: A NEW LIFE . Please know that your heart has a tremendous capacity to love and if you choose it, allowing new love into your life in no way disrespects your husband’s memory or the love that you will always have for him.
