[From Monte] Good Evening, Bastards! I hope your weekend was restful, productive, fun, all these things. For the coming week, at least Tue/Thu... Well gather at the top of Baldwin in Sierra Madre on Tue night at 6:30 pm. Thu night, Chantry Flats at 6:30. Illl post reminders each afternoon, but I wanted to enable you to plan ahead, From a preparation perspective, well be focused on KutThroat which is now less than 4 weeks off. Following that, Ragnar Trail - Vail Lake 10-11 October, and finally the Bastard in late December (still TBD, of course) Besides a couple of runs, well also begin the effort to take the next steps with the Arrogant Bastards. Well need volunteers to take on a few tasks. Some of these tasks will be one-time type efforts; others will be more ongoing. - A steering or leadership committee. - Standards (think qualifier) - Events (races, fun runs, other group outings) - Social media The goal will be to organize these groups by the end of the week. Let them work until after KutThoat, then bring their work in front of the entire group, on Tue, 09 Sep. Finally, Eric and I were able to meet briefly on Saturday morning. He shared a lot of information with me about the history of the AB and its operations. Some things will need to change as we transition from being a part of TCA / Fifty Klicks into more of a club format, but not as much as you might think. Hes begun the process of transitioning the FB to the group. Also, we do have access to our name. Eric is proud of what the AB have accomplished over the last 4 years, and, I think, ready to see what we can become as we move forward. We have his full support - perhaps well be able to coax him out to run with us from time to time. As much as, well create a group lead by a group, I want to make one unilateral decision, which I think youll all agree. However we develop, whatever we set for qualifier standards, whatever we do, our group was created by Eric LeClair in Dec, 2010 - he will always be a Bastard!
