From PennDOT: York County: PennDOT will be conducting a nighttime sweeping operation over the next two weeks to clear debris from the sides of the Interstate 83 highway between Exit 24 (Emigsville/Route 238) and Exit 14 (Leader Heights/Route 182) in York County. The operation will take place between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning, starting Sunday through Thursday nights both weeks. The sweeping operation starts this Sunday, Oct. 19, in the southbound direction at Emigsville, clearing debris from along the inside shoulder. When the maintenance crews reach the southern end of their work, they will move to the northbound direction. Motorists are asked to be alert for slow moving vehicles and to slow down when approaching and passing by the sweeping operation – for their safety as well as for the safety of the maintenance crews conducting this work.
