Section on U2s tax from 19mins. the people interviewed at the end were quite polite about how they feel about U2 tax affairs i am sure if they asked people in other parts of Dublin, especially poorer areas, that have been affected the hardest by austerity, the responses would have been a lot angrier. RTEs Fergil Keane defends U2s tax arrangements, one very well paid person saying that its okay for other rich people to not pay their fair share while the people on the bottom see their quality of life gradually getting worse. U2, Denis O Brien, Dermot Morgan and all the rest of the tax avoiders are modern day traitors. When we elect a truly left wing government they should bring in a tax avoidance tax and make these people pay back double what they should have paid as a warning to anyone who might think of doing it again. Even after this these people will still be in the top 1% but at least the people at the bottom will see their quality of life improve. How many homeless people would U2s taxes house? If we brought in the tax avoidance tax we could end homelessness and have plenty of change for other worthy causes.
