From a Houston Chronicle subscriber: This is a good write-up but I have to say the writer is confused about the concerns of so many Texan citizens since Gov. elect Abbott won by a landslide. Panic button Regarding “Abbott not softening stance on Medicaid” (Page B1, Saturday), it seems to me that our new governor and his agenda runs totally askew from the concerns of so many Texan citizens. With 6 million Texans not having medical insurance, article upon article about no-bid contracts and the willingness to remove tuition breaks for Dreamers as well as being ready to sign any open-carry law put on his desk, one wonders what Greg Abbott and his administration is all about. I have read where legislators are ordering “panic buttons” for their offices, and I have to think that all of us should be hitting that button because I am envisioning a very dismal future for all of us if these are the priorities of the new administration in Austin.
