From a friend and fellow military wife and mom, Kathleen M. Rodgers: Specialist Joseph Riley was killed on Monday along with Command Sgt. Major Wardell Turner. I struggle with the knowledge that many Americans are clueless that our troops are still in danger. I had a lady come up to me at church recently and remark that not much is going on anymore in Afghanistan. She is a good woman, but her comment left me shaking my head. The other day, a man Ive known for 22 years remarked that its more dangerous driving down the highway. I bit my tongue as hes never sent a loved one to war.
