The office was brand new, the equipment utterly modern, the staff friendly, and on just a hello sir how are you and a handshake I was swept into the chair for an xray (all digital), evaluation, and summary of the recommended proceedure (the most face time Ive had with a dentist, ever. I now know exactly what a root canal treatment is). Costs, you ask? ₨3000 — Root canal treatment ₨2000 — Titanium reinforcement ₨5000 — Cap (₨3000 if I go stainless instead of ceramic) ₨10,000 total — or about $160 out the door. Yeah, I had to do the math three times to be sure it was right. He can see me immediately. In other words this one dentist visit completely pays for my airline ticket plus two months rent for the cottage I am staying in and leaves me enough change for an order of delicious butter naan.
