From another biological standpoint (I do after all have a degree in Biochemical engineering) it appears to me that as life has evolved it has moved through the dimensions as regards perception. Ill expand on this below. 1-d perception: Simple cells (prokaryotes) have cell surface receptors that can either detect more or less with regard to a specific substance or environmental cue. The idea of more and less can be depicted as a straight line with more at one end and less at the other. Simple 1-d perception. 2-d perception: More complex life forms such as trees, flowers and other plants are now able to track the movement of the sun across the sky as well as their simple more/less perception. This would appear as a 2d sheet to them, hence 2-dimensional perception. 3-d perception: Simple animals such as basic invertebrates/insects possess no temporal memory, but the development of the eye now allows them to perceive the 3d world, whilst relying on chemical/environmental cues to provoke instinctual responses. Now we have 3d perception. 4-d perception: Memory develops in more complex animals as a survival tool. This provokes simple instinctual responses which allow them to avoid potentially dangerous situations and leads to the perception of the passage of time, the 4th dimension. 5-d perception: Ever more complex animals develop further their field of perception to detect possibility, the 5th dimension. This has developed in other animals again as a survival tool, but is most highly developed in us as humans. Which leads onto 6-d perception: Now I believe both humans and computers to possibly be capable of this type of perception. This (and perhaps the 5th dimension) are best explained by this video https://youtube/watch?v=8Q_GQqUg6Ts I guess Id perhaps call this Logic, but my original idea is more in agreement with Norbert Wieners idea of logic than the present one... However my humble philosophies will have to wait Think Ill expand upon this progression through dimensional perception in the Rite of Spring section of the Fantaisie tableaux, in tribute to Disneys Fantasia.
