From the Cam Conservators Please be advised that the Environment Agency has issued an Advisory Navigation Notice for the River Cam (Baits Bite to Upware Lock). In addition, the Cam Conservators are issuing a warning to river users navigating reaches of the River Cam between the A14 road bridge at Milton and Bottisham Lock, Thursday 1st August until Sunday 4th August 2013. Anglian Water will be releasing hydrogen peroxide into the River Cam at various locations between the A14 road bridge at Milton and Upware to increase river oxygen levels in the water column. Hydrogen peroxide is an irritant. The Conservancy strongly advises navigators, in particular users of small craft, to cancel outings on the river between these two dates for safety reasons. Swimming is certainly not advised. Dogs may also be at risk if allowed off the leash to swim in the river. For further information please contact the Environment Agency on 03708 506 506 (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm). Thank you for your understanding and cooperation
