GABALTA will be hosting a membership dinner meeting on October 17th at Lakeview Resort in Morgantown, WV. Scott McCleery, Senior Geologist at PDC Energy will be the keynote speaker. Social hour will begin at 6:00 pm with dinner and the keynote beginning promptly at 6:30. The cost for members is $30.00 and for non-members is $65.00 and will be collected at the door. Keynote Speaker: Scott McCleery Scott McCleery, Senior Geologist with PDC Energy, Inc. in Bridgeport, WV, has worked as a professional petroleum geologist for some 32 years. Before joining PDC, Scott has worked for Gulf Oil, Chevron, Phillips and ConocoPhillips, in New Orleans, LA, Houston, TX, Bartlesville, OK, and internationally in Beijing, China and Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela. Scott has a B.S. degree in geology from the University of Pittsburgh and a M.S. degree from the University of New Orleans. Mr. McCleery’s talk titled “Developing Unconventional Resources: The Marcellus & Utica” will look briefly at the difference between conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon development, horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing; then review some characteristics of the Marcellus and Utica plays.
