GARDAÍ ARE WARNING businesses to be careful of fake notes after reports of them being in circulation in Cork. Gardaí say fake cash emerged in Blackrock and that they’re investigating the matter. Meanwhile, there’s also reports of the dud notes appearing just outside Cork city. Manager of The Gallows Bar on Bandon Road, Dave Cremin, told TheJournal.ie that the pub received a fake €20 note about two weeks ago. He said, You’d notice that it doesn’t feel right, the shiny strip isn’t shiny and the ink is a bit darker but on a busy night in a pub you’re not going to notice that. These reports come after a huge seizure of fake cash in Dublin last month. Over €2 million was taken by gardaí when a premises at the North Circular Road was raided. Anybody who notices anything suspicious with their cash is advised to contact gardaí immediately.
