#GDAturns15 We are rounding out Mother’s Day with a special message from Gail Davis to her two sons, Kyle and Luke, who have been with her every step of this amazing journey. I am currently reading Brené Brown’s book, The Art of Imperfection and taking the companion e-course. Last week Brené talked about the slash. It is a concept that describes various aspects/roles in a person’s life. One of the best examples is a rabbi/rapper. I have been thinking a lot about my slash(es). Business owner/entrepreneur/storyteller. It seems appropriate today to talk about the slash role I am most proud of and that is “mother”. I have two sons and they are 23 and 25 years old. Since GDA is turning 15, it is easy to do the math and know that Kyle and Luke have been a part of this company since they were 8 and 10. When I look around at all the people who made this possible, I cannot overlook my sons. They have built cabinets, copied VHS tapes, made post office and FedEx runs. They have done airport pick-ups and sat through countless speeches. They have helped me recruit employees and helped me preview speakers. They have given me advice on how to be a “cooler” boss! I am sure at times they had to sacrifice a bit due to my distractions. For it all, I thank you boys. Here are some photos of the boys over the years at GDA.
