GGAA DONATION OF MEDICAL SUPPLIES TO HELP PREVENT EBOLA ARRIVED IN GRAND GEDEH COUNTY. The National Administration of the Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas is pleased to inform all members and well-wishers that the first donation of medical supplies and equipment to help prevent the Ebola virus has arrived in Grand Gedeh County. The County Chief Medical Officer Dr. Karmbor via an electronic mail, acknowledged receipt of the supplies and equipment. A GGAA Emergency Health Committee on Ebola Prevent has since been constituted by the National President, Hon. Tillman Collins. Through GGAA Emergency Health Committee on Ebola Prevention under the able Chairmanship of Dr. Eugenia Cooper-Marchant, the people of Grand Gedeh County have received and continue to receive prevention awareness about the killer virus. The committee has since recorded Ebola prevention jingoes in the Krahn vernacular and has role-played an Ebola prevention questions and answers scenario that are aired on the county local radio station (Smart FM). The Emergency Health Committee in collaboration with the County health team is working tirelessly to prevent the occurrence of Ebola in the county. Please see below Dr. Karmbors email to GGAA. Attached is the list of items received from the Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas (GGAA), through Dr. Eugenia Cooper Merchant and photos during the time of reception. Words are inadequate to express our gratitude. We really appreciate the items at this juncture especially the examination gloves, which we were completely out of, Blood Pressure Cuffs which were not sufficient to cover all of the wards at the hospital, the 2 non contact infrared thermometers, which are very much needed to protect health practitioners and even patients against the Ebola virus and other communicable diseases. These infrared thermometers are presently being used in the ER and OB ward. The hand sanitizer and all other materials received are highly essential to the operation of the hospital during this crisis period. May God bless you for your concern about the Grand Gedeans back home. Thanks ever so much. Sincerely yours, Dr. Elsie G. Karmbor County Health Officer GGAA NATIONAL SECRETARIAT APPROVED THIS MESSAGE
