GIFT OF GOD “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee…” (2 Timothy 1:6) God has deposited in us gifts and natural endowments. He wants us to use them to serve Him. It is easy to leave them dormant due to ignorance, fear of failure, or lack of self confidence. A Bible teacher once wrote about two men discussing the possibility of permanently destroying weeds in the garden, but failed to agree. One thought that fire will permanently destroy the weeds, while the other thought that fire will increase their next growth and harvest. Solution came when a third person asserted that ‘no weeds will spring up in that garden as long as the fire is kept burning’. This is very instructive. As young boy or girl, you must use the gifts and talents to serve God. Don’t leave them dormant. Fuel them with diligence, constant use, hard work and prayers. Do not live below your potentials. Keep the fire burning. The grace of God will see you through. Challenge: Use your gift to glorify God. Prayer: Help me Lord to recognize and use my gifts.
